7:45 am Rite One Communion service is primarily spoken, with organ music during communion followed by a closing hymn.
9 am Rite Two Communion worship offers blended musical styles. There is a children’s message before the sermon, as well as Children’s Chapel during the sermon. Nursery is available from 8:45 am until noon.
11 am Rite One Communion alternates with Morning Prayer (second Sundays, fifth Sundays); the Adult Choir, accompanied by the organ, leads traditional hymns and anthems. Nursery is available.
5 pm Rite One Communion includes contemporary arrangements of traditional hymns. The service is followed by a dinner during the UVA school year. Nursery is available.
Coffee Hour occurs between the 9 am and 11 am services from about 10:10 am until 10:50 am in Meade Hall. This is an opportunity for people to mingle over coffee.
Sunday School is offered for children (ages 3-5th grade) and adults during the coffee hour, between September and May, You are welcome to bring your coffee with you to the Adult Education class going on downstairs in the Gibson room.
Midweek Communion Service is a weekly service of Holy Eucharist Rite Two with Healing Prayer (anointing with oil with prayers from the Book of Common Prayer), on Wednesdays at 11:30 am in St. Anne’s Chapel.
Holy Communion at Westminster Canterbury of the Blue Ridge occurs on the last Wednesday of every month, Christ Church holds a service at Westminster-Canterbury, a local retirement community. Those attending the service often eat lunch together afterwards as well. All are welcome to attend.
