2022 VESTRY SLATE & BIOS

MEG HOLDEN

My husband Chris and I have three daughters ages 19 to 26.  We have lived on a small farm in Albemarle County for almost 26 years.  Chris, the girls and I love being part of the Christ Church community and feel blessed to be fed so well with it’s strong message of grace.  Among other work in the community, I have served the Episcopal church in many ways over the years: teaching Sunday school, sending a daughter to do mission work in Tanzania several times, serving on a vestry, attending a regional diocesan council meeting, serving on search committees as well as supporting the church through my prayers, my presence and my gifts.  I am excited by the call to serve on the vestry of Christ Church and work with the gifted staff as well as meet other members of the Christ Church community.  Our family generally attends the 11:00 service due to morning and evening barn chores, but we occasionally attend the 5:00 service as well as some Christian education offerings.  We have enjoyed being physically back in the church even with covid still in our midst, but appreciate the opportunity to tap into Zoom when needed.  If elected I look forward to serving Christ Church as one of your vestry members.

MAITLAND HOLBROOK

I first attended a service at Christ Episcopal Church as a first year at UVA. A few of my friends and I heard there was a bus taking students for the 5pm service. Those same friends and the others I met on that bus continued to return to that service and dinner throughout our 4 years at UVA. I enjoyed volunteering in the children’s chapel and as an usher during my undergraduate years. After four years in Washington D.C., I returned to Charlottesville and was married to my husband (Austin) at Christ Church. We now have two children, Holt (2) and Frances Lane (1), who were baptized at CEC. I work part time as a speech language pathologist at UVA Children’s Hospital. We have really loved the fellowship of Christ Episcopal Church and are so happy to raise our children in such a loving community.
