This Sunday, at 11 a.m., Alice Layman will play organ music by Reger and Handel.

The Adult Choir, directed by Alice Layman will sing the anthem, “Bless the Lord, O My Soul” by Ippolitof-Ivanof.

Our 2013-2014 class is almost full. We still have two spots available.

A native of Charlottesville, Oliver began studying the organ formally at the age of 12. He recently graduated from the Eastman School of Music with a degree in Organ Performance.

His performances are hailed by The American Organist as “stunning” and “particularly exciting”; and by The Tracker as “…of the highest musicality and technical polish.”

To whet your musical appetite…

This coming Sunday, June 9, organist Alice Layman will play Organ Prelude by J.S. Bach, as well as Organ Postlude by Walther.

The adult choir will sing Anthem Motet by Orlando Gibbons under the direction of Alice Layman.

The group includes musicians Steve Stanford, John LaPrade, Christ Church’s own Steve Layman, Ray Wyant, and Basil Istwany, all members of the trombone ensemble in the Charlottesville Municipal Band.

Back Row’d Brass performs classical, jazz, and blues arrangements for low brass.

During your lunch break, come and enjoy the tunes of these talented trombonists!
