We offer four worship services every Sunday:

7:45 am

Rite One Communion service is primarily spoken, with organ music during communion followed by a closing hymn.

9 am

Rite Two Communion worship offers blended musical styles. There is a children’s message before the sermon, as well as Children’s Chapel during the sermon. Nursery is available beginning at 8:45 am, until noon.

Coffee Hour & Sunday School

Coffee Hour occurs between the 9 am and 11 am services from about  10:10 am until 10:50 am. Coffee Hour, which takes place in Meade Hall, is an opportunity for people to mingle over coffee.

Between September and May, you also have the option to participate in Sunday school, offered for children, youth, and adults during this hour. You are welcome to spend some time at Coffee Hour, and then bring your coffee with you to the Adult Education class going on downstairs in the Gibson room.

11 am

Rite One Communion  alternates with Morning Prayer (second Sundays, fifth Sundays); the Adult Choir, accompanied by the organ, leads traditional hymns and anthems. Nursery is available from 8:45 am until noon.

5 pm

Rite One Communion includes contemporary arrangements of traditional hymns. The service is followed by a dinner during the UVA school year. Nursery is available.

In addition to the Sunday services, we also offer:

Midweek Communion Service

Christ Church offers a weekly service of Holy Eucharist Rite Two with Healing Prayer (anointing with oil with prayers from the Book of Common Prayer), on Wednesdays at 11:30 am in St. Anne’s Chapel.

Holy Communion at Westminster Canterbury of the Blue Ridge

On the last Wednesday of every month, Christ Church holds a service at Westminster-Canterbury, a local retirement community. Many residents attend the service led by Willis or Paul. Those attending the service often eat lunch together afterwards as well. All are welcome to attend.

Last Wednesday of every month, 11 am, Westminster-Canterbury.
