Our desire is to welcome children to Christ Church and introduce them to the love of God through the stories of the Bible.
Children’s Ministries at Christ Church is full of lots of joy and energy and is ever growing in numbers of children year after year. Volunteers of all ages are welcome to join the Children’s Ministries Team in a wide variety of ways. During the 9:00 AM Service – All Year
Children ages 3 years to 5th grade
Prior to the adult sermon, children are invited to come forward for a five minute sermon by the clergy.
Children’s Chapel/Tween Chapel
During 9:00 AM Service — All Year
Children ages 3 years to 5th grade.
After the children’s sermon, children leave the sanctuary with the adult leaders for approximately 30 minutes to attend either Children’s Chapel or Tween Chapel.
Children’s Chapel: Children ages 3 through 2nd grade will attend Children’s Chapel where they will learn about the Bible story and participate in a response activity which may include singing, crafts or games. Children’s Chapel is lead by adult chapel leaders.
Tween Chapel: Children who are in 3rd through 5th grades will attend Tween Chapel where they will have the opportunity to take on leadership roles during the service under the guidance of adult “Shepherds.” Tween Chapel will allow children to have hands on experience and group discussions about Bible readings as well as church practices.

Sunday school classes will center on spiritual development, church practice and weekly Bible lessons. Lead by volunteers

Second Sunday in Advent at 9:00 AM service.

First Fridays at Fitzhugh
First Friday of the month, October through May
Children ages 0 through 8th grade.
Parents are invited to bring their children to the Fitzhugh House for nursery care and planned programs for children through 8th grade each Friday of every month from 6:00pm-8:45pm. Parents may then go and enjoy a night out without kiddos on us. Children will be served dinner and will enjoy age appropriate activities in smaller group settings. Tween Group and Middle School Youth Group will meet at this time.
Vacation Bible School

Bibles stories, crafts, games and songs are included — all in a fun setting. These are all lead by parent volunteers.
