Welcome to Christ Church Youth! We are so glad you are here.

It is our hope and prayer that this youth group would serve as a place where teens can rest in the everlasting peace, hope, and joy that comes from following Christ. In a world where schedules are hectic and pressure is high academically and socially, we at Christ Church desire for our youth group to consistently remind our students (and leaders!) that they are loved unconditionally by a God who has met every standard they could ever dream of achieving. Whether it’s the perfect GPA, the perfect resume, or the perfect Instagram post, teens are constantly burdened with the idea of perfection and achievement. Yet, because of the cross, Jesus has granted us freedom from the pressure that the world so longs to place on young adults today. Because of the cross, we, “who were dead in our trespasses” have been made alive with Christ, who in His mercy, “canceled the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This He set aside, nailing it to the cross” (Colossians 2). In light of this good news, we long for students to foster a personal relationship with the same God who has redeemed them from a life of sin and striving for a perfection that has already been accredited to them by the work of Jesus. We long to celebrate this truth in our weekly youth group meetings, mission trips, retreats, and simply by being in fellowship together.

Though I write this message a mere month into my ministry at Christ Church, I can already feel the Holy Spirit at work in this youth group, and I am prayerful and expectant for all that He will accomplish in the lives of our students. It is my sincere pleasure and privilege to witness Him at work and rest in His good plan for their lives!

In Christ,

Rebecca Lankford, Youth Minister

“Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”- Ephesians 3:20
