Melissa and I moved to Charlottesville in 1972 after I graduated from medical school at Columbia, and except for two years on active duty with the Navy as a physician have lived here ever since. Melissa is a cradle Episcopalian and she introduced me to the beautiful liturgy of the Book of Common Prayer when I was an undergraduate at Princeton. Since moving to Charlottesville we have attended Christ Church where I have served on the Vestry on three previous occasions, serving once as Senior Warden. I am retired from practicing medicine and have been involved in many aspects of our church life. Our daughters were raised in this church, and it is in every good sense my church home. I am grateful to the Holy Spirit for guiding us here so many years ago and sustaining us here ever since.
