Dear Church Family,

One of our ‘little lambs’ from our Christmas pageant is in need of our prayers and support.

Following recommendations from UVA, three yr. old Jack Callahan began high-dose intensive chemotherapy for a rare pelvic cancer in Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia today. They will be doing two 21-day cycles of high intensity chemo, followed by another round of chemo with a stem cell transplant (that will be a 30-day hospital stay). If you would like more specific information, follow this link to Jack’s Caring Bridge page.

As you can imagine, the financial, physical, emotional and spiritual burden is extraordinary, as his parents, Emily and Mike, take off work in order to be with Jack. We are sending the link below to their GoFundMe page, created by friends of the Callahans. As they set-up camp in Philadelphia, we are surrounding them in love and support from their Christ Church family. Please keep them in your prayers.

If you would prefer, you can make a donation through Christ Church; either through our giving page, a check in the offering plate or mail (please write Jack on the memo line) or drop by the office. You can also Venmo the church using the address @cec-cville

The Callahans were able to attend church this past Sunday (Father’s Day) to receive prayers and blessing. Emily, Mike and Jack are grateful for the grace they have experienced from their parish family.

Yours in Christ,

Your Clergy
