The Finale of our Habitat for Humanity Myth Busting Series!

And please join us on a Wednesday, January 12th Habitour at 3pm!

Please read below from Kelly Eplee, The Director of Donor Relations at Habitat for Humanity, Charlottesville, as he gives great gratitude for the Christ Church Family as we end our "Myth Busting" series. Kelly also invites us on a Habitour to visit the new Southwood Community Design Center on Wednesday, January 12th at 3pm. Please email Courtenay courtenay@christchurchcville.org if you are interested in joining us!

Dearest Christ Church Family,
As a reader of your Christ Church Weekly news, I always look forward to the vibrancy of your faith family! Of course, it was gratifying to see the "Habitat Myth Busters" put a spotlight on common misconceptions. We would love to hear the moments of "I didn't know that!". Few faith communities are so committed to the Habitat mission that they raise the discourse from 101 to the graduate level. Thank you Christ Church for appreciating the complexity of affordable housing needs and solutions. You are an example of informed philanthropy, demonstrated more so through the amazing generosity of the $100,000 pledge to our Forever Home Campaign, the platform for our surge in new home building.
This brings Southwood Mobile Home Park into view. As you drive out-of-town on Old Lynchburg Road, you will notice the new Village One neighborhood taking shape. With construction beginning as soon as permits are received, this mixed-income community of 80 will be home to the first 49 Habitat families, building their homes and moving from their aging trailers. Please join us on a Habitour,
Wednesday, January 12th at 3 pm, for a visit to the new Southwood Community Design Center and a first trip down the (hopefully) newly paved Horizon Road.
With gratitude and peace in Christ,
Kelly
