Stewardship 2027
“We love because he first loved us. From his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace”
(1 John 4:19, John 1:16)
Why do we Give?
Through our generous giving, God’s grace takes shape in the worship, teaching, hospitality, outreach, and pastoral care at Christ Church and throughout this community and the world.
Giving as a Response to God’s Abundant Grace
-
• It reorders our relationship with money. When we give first, not last, we begin to see money as something we steward, not as something we serve.
• It deepens gratitude. Each gift reminds us that all we have—our time, our talents, our resources—are gifts from God.
• It challenges the false sense that we’re in control and that all we need is to rely upon ourselves.
• It anchors us in community. Giving connects us to the shared work of the Gospel: proclaiming the forgiveness of sins, caring for one another, serving our neighbors, and sustaining a place of worship and belonging.
• It builds trust. The practice of giving stretches our faith, reminding us that our security rests not in what we keep, but in the faithfulness of God.
-
Author Morgan Housel once wrote, “Spending money to show people how much money you have is the fastest way to have less money.”
The Gospel invites us to see money differently. God hasn’t given us resources to prove our value or excellence, but as a gift and a tool to do the work He has given us to do— to love God and to love our neighbor. When we give, we’re not making a statement about our success; we’re participating in God’s ongoing story of provision, mercy, and grace.
Our offering becomes a quiet act of trust, a way of saying that everything we have already belongs to Him.
-
When we offer our gifts together—whether large or small—we participate in something far greater than ourselves: the ministry, mission and proclamation of the Gospel. Your giving helps:
A Practice for the whole Church
Support worship, education and pastoral care
Sustain outreach ministries and partnerships
Maintain our sacred spaces
Provide for our staff and programs that serve all ages inside and outside our walls
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that is not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
-Ephesians 2: 8-10 NKJV
