Youth Ministry Report
Our middle and high-schoolers have shared joyful and meaningful times together over the past year. Our youth group continues to enjoy a weekly Sunday supper and Bible study, tap into our childlike inclinations with games and outings, and volunteer together. This past summer, Brady Doyle (2021-2022 Fellow) officially joined the youth team to serve as an additional Youth Minister. He has been a gift to this ministry, and we are so fortunate to have him!
In 2022, we had an absolutely huge class (over 40 kids!) for Youth Confirmation, and we are looking forward to another year of 8th, 9th, and 10th graders meeting each Sunday morning. Our high school summer mission trip to Savannah, GA was an adventure! We repaired homes for local people in need, cleaned historic parks around the city, packed thousands of meals, and toured the oldest Black church in North America, with physical signs of the Underground Railroad. We are
looking forward to another rewarding, challenging, and wonderful summer mission trip where we can serve together!
We have had so much fun together this past year, including Top Golf, escape rooms, burger nights, a trip to Jump C’ville, holiday parties, pumpkin carving... the list goes on and on. We are looking forward to a Wintergreen overnight at the end of January where kids can ski, snowboard, and hear a Gospel message. Our Youth Group engages in service opportunities
throughout the year, most recently the Habitat for Humanity Rake-A-Thon. We look forward to the return of our Rise Against Hunger event in the springtime, something in which the families of our parish dearly love to participate. Brady and I continue to prioritize great friendships with this group, and hope to continue providing meaningful and delightful opportunities for them to connect and be themselves. Our goal, always, is for them to know that they are seen and loved precisely as they already are -- by us as their youth leaders, by one another, and by God.
My prayer is that we continue to grow closer as a youth group in this coming year, and that we hold above all the unchanging grace and goodness of Jesus Christ.
